Genevieve was born in Knoxville,TN to Thomas & Genevieve Wynegar, and is a 1975 graduate of Bearden High School, and of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors Degree in Communications. While at UT, Genevieve was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, and dove into the organization with extreme zeal.
Her career in marketing and organizational planning led her to live in several southeastern states from Texas to Virginia, settling in Coastal Georgia where she fell in love with the community of Darien. She retired from McIntosh County Family Connection.
She was a faithful Christian, Elder in her church, and active participant in several churches in the area.
Ms. Wynegar is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Burns Wynegar, grandparents Dr. & Mrs. Joseph Bingham Mack D.D., Mr. & Mrs. Esco C. Wynegar; and dearest aunt, Mary Ashley Mack, all of Knoxville TN.
She is survived by her mother, Genevieve Mack Wynegar; siblings, Mack Wynegar of Scottsdale, AZ, Tricia Drake (Walt) of Decatur, GA, Kirby Collins (Dave) of Knoxville, TN, Lee Ann Wynegar of Nashville, TN; nephews, Tommy Bell (Sarah) of Atlanta, GA, Sam Bell (Carly) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; niece Margaret Bell Tullos (Jesse) of Roswell, GA; 3 great nephews, Harrison, Houston, and Henry Bell. She is also survived by a vast amount of extended family members and a host of special friends. Her family is very thankful to Genevieve’s dear friends in Darien for their support, especially Diane Martin, and numerous friends at the coast and in East Tennessee.
The family would like to extend our appreciation to the staff at Hospice of The Golden Isles and Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.
