Mrs. Taylor will be loving remembered by one daughter Tina Hodges (Wayne) & Family; two sons Allen Whittington (Cathy) & Family, and Ricky Whittington (Pam) & Family; three sisters Ruth Zencik & Family, Janice Bennett (Dempsey) & Family, Elva Swails & Family; and also several grand-children, great grand-children, nieces, nephews, and her God sent and special companion dog "Cuddles".
She was preceded in death by her parents Jeff Whittington of Mason Georgia and Emma Williams of Pearson, Atkinson County, Georgia, a baby girl Theresa Whittington, late husband Donald Taylor and former husband Lewis Whittington, brothers Horace Whittington, J.W. Whittington, Buddy Whittington, and sister Marlene Duschem.
Doris showed her people skill through her occupation retiring from Motel Properties, Manager Broker for Quality Mobile Home Brokers and Supervisor at the Sea Island Company. Doris continued her Education from Clinch County High School to the Coastal Georgia College in Brunswick.
Doris was a member of the Tabernacle Christian Church where she was a witness to anyone that would stop long enough for her to tell them of God’s Love for her and others.
Visitation will be held at Taylors United Methodist Church, 766 Old Jesup Road, Brunswick, Georgia, Friday, February 19, 2016 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 PM with Reverend Cameron Jones and Andy Young officiating. Interment will follow in Taylors United Methodist Church Cemetery. Following the service a reception for family and friends will held in the reception hall of Taylors United Methodist church.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Mrs. Taylor’s grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Levy & Staff, Dr. Certain & Staff, Dr. Chung & Staff and her special friends Helen Cope Wolcott, Betty & Tommy Hendricks, Carol Cole, Naoma Taylor, Sister Ann & Brother Earl Melton, and J. E. Mcall.
