I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  Myers was such a sweet old soul.  Always had a funny to share and a smile.  He will be missed by many.  My prayer for you is for peace and comfort as you grieve.  Godspeed Myers...  Love

     Myers was one of my very best friends growing up. We were virtually inseparable as kids, and I considered the Wetheringtons to be family. I'll forever remember Myers to be exceptionally intelligent, athletic, and quick-witted. We spent countless hours playing video-games, riding bikes, and organizing pickup games of all kinds. We had a close circle of friends. Our bond was one that was extraordinarily special and increasingly rare in this world. 

     Everyone that knows Myers knows that he was incredibly competitive. He was a winner. Whether it was video-games or sports, you always wanted to be on his team. I remember in little-league when he hit his first home-run. I remember it like it was yesterday. I still remember how Bill and Myers were beaming on the car ride home. It was a very proud moment for all of us. I know in that moment they both felt like they had conquered the world. 

     We spent the most time playing my favorite: basketball. His speed, skill, and toughness were truly formidable. He would always take the game to the next level. Because of this, he brought out the best in those around him. I'll always appreciate and admire him for that.

     His adventurous spirit made the slow pace of island-life far more interesting. Because we excelled at school, we were given more freedom than most growing up, and we took advantage of it. We'd call each-other almost as soon as we woke up most weekend mornings. We'd then proceed to roam seemingly endless hours together on our bicycles. No distance was too far for us to travel. We explored nearly every nook and cranny of Saint Simons Island. Neither of us ever seemed to run out of energy. Our love for life was strong. 

Myers simply made life growing up more fun. I can't think of a much higher compliment than that. There were very few (if any) dull moments spent together.  I was always proud to call him one of my best friends. And I always will be. I love you, bro.

Myers worked for me for many years while he attended VSU and a little bit after he graduated. Myers was a great young man who always worked hard and was very intelligent. He always talked highly about his family and his love for FSU sports . Me and my family will keep you in our prayers .  Jason and Tanya Cone

I worked with Myers for several years.  He was always so easy going, friendly, and eager to help in any way he could. He will truly be missed. Thoughts and prayers to all. 

Myers...where to begin. This awesome man shined brightest among others and could set anyone at ease with his infectious laugh! I worked with Myers for a few years; I’m so thankful that I was blessed to have known him. Always my go to guy for assistance with work.

I so enjoyed my time at Sheffield Distributing Company with Myers.  He helped me out at work when I needed him  and was always polite .  I loved his smile and how he was always so carefree . Myers loved his family and baseball , and he will be greatly missed.  Prayers for Strength for Jennifer, Bill and Whitney as well as the entire family as they face the days, and months to come. I thought the world of Myers. He was kind, thoughtful, caring and generous with his time and knowledge. He seemed to smile thru it all. My heart and thoughts are with those that loved him as many of us did.

I worked with Myers over the last year here at SGMC.  He always had a big smile and he was so kind and helpful to me as a started a new job.  I will surely miss you.  Love and prayers for the family.

Some of my favorite memories from my childhood with Myers had to be playing baseball at Mallory Park, football at Howard Coffin Park, and basketball with him at Glynn Middle and Glynn Academy. We were teammates so many times over the years. I was always thankful to be on his team because he was always one tough dude to play against. 

Additionally, Myers and his family always welcomed me into their home as one of their own. This was especially the case when I moved off the island to help keep me and the gang hanging as one. I will always be thankful for that.

Even though that same gang starting growing older and farther apart due to life, love, and those things we got to have called "jobs,"  we still found ways to keep in touch and get together every once in awhile. I wish we had more time to make more memories but I will always cherish the ones we made. I will miss you my friend. 

Bill, Jen, Whitney and the family; I can't express how sorry I am to hear about this loss. I can only hope that somehow messages like these find their way to a place in your heart and make it happier. Having said all that, we will all keep Myers in our hearts and minds and make sure to give him a proper toast when we get together again soon.

Words cannot describe the sadness that I feel. I have worked with Myers for years now and he was bright and shining light in our department.  He will be sorely missed by this team.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Bill Wetherington Jr. and Jennifer S. of Brunswick, GA Wetherington; his sister, Whitney Wetherington( Matthew Purvis) of Brunswick, GA; one precious niece, Lynnlee Purvis of Brunswick, GA; maternal grandparents, Gary and Peggy Sheffield of St. Simons Island, GA; paternal grandparents, Billy and Delores Wetherington of Brunswick, GA; aunt and uncle, Tony and Debbie Doliveira of St. Simons Island, GA; special cousins, Pierce and Isabelle Doliveira also of St. Simons Island, GA.
