Brenda McIntosh Rogers

Brenda McIntosh White Rogers, 73, of South Newport, unexpectedly went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday, December 17, 2022, at South Newport Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Egger officiating. Interment will follow in McIntosh Family Cemetery with Ronald L. McIntosh, Jason McIntosh, Ben Townsend, Clark LaRoche, Jim Johns and Earl Futch serving as pallbearers.

Brenda was born April 23, 1949, in Reidsville, Georgia to the late George Lee and Monette Orr McIntosh. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kelly White. She was a direct descendent of Lachlan McIntosh, an early descendent of McIntosh County and was very proud of her heritage and connection to this family.

After graduating from Darien High School in 1967, she went on to work for the U.S. Government, where she retired after 34 years. She was currently working part-time at R. Flay Cabiness, II Law Office in Brunswick, Ga. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family, traveling in their motorhome with her husband, going on cruises, reading, doing genealogy research, sewing and tending to her flowers. She was a member of The Ladies Auxiliary of Alee Temple Mobile Unit and The Golden Girls of McIntosh County.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Harry D. Rogers, Sr.; children, Melanie (Flay) Cabiness of Brunswick, Ga, Jennifer (Robin) Patterson of Enoree, SC, brother Ronald L. McIntosh and sister Cindy McIntosh. Grandchildren, Kelsey Ann Cabiness, Cab Cabiness and Maggie Patterson. Stepchildren Brian Rogers of Lyons, Ga, Crystal (Bubba) Howard of Ludowici, Ga, Harry (Jennifer) Rogers, Jr. of Canton, NC. Step grandchildren, Gracie Hallows, Jackson Rogers and Journey Rogers.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1pm until the funeral hour at South Newport Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the building fund at South Newport Baptist Church or the Golden Isles Veterans Village.
