Betty Jean was a native of Nashville, GA but had been a resident of Brunswick, GA since the early 1940's. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for many years. She loved gardening, but was best known for the food prepared for friends and family to enjoy around her kitchen table.
Betty Jean was preceded in death by her husband, James Williamson, daughter Cynthia Lightfoot , her son Bobby Williamson; sisters Hazel, Clydie, brothers, Calvin, J.C., and Eldon.
She is survived by her sister Lynda Strean; daughter-in-law, Shirley Williamson; grandsons: Jeffrey Williamson, Sean Lightfoot, Todd Lightfoot (Jeanna), David Williamson, and Eric Williamson; greatgrands, Kayleigh, Livi and Evelyn; great-greatgrands, Leighton, Cohen, and Dempsy.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Butch Faulkner, Richie Gibbs, Bill Mullis, Don Dixon, Jimmy Harper, and Dywane Griner.
