Betty Sue Knight entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at her residence. Betty Sue was 73 and the daughter of the late James Henry Melton and the late Hellen McCarthy. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Harper, Doretha Stock, and Cindy Barker and her beloved son, Chas Allen Knight.
Betty Sue was born in Alma, Georgia but had lived most of her adult life in Brunswick, Georgia. She was retired from Pantry Pride as a manager and was also the owner of a local bar at one time. She was an outgoing lady that never met a stranger. She enjoyed dancing, spending time on the river and watching old western movies. One of her life’s favorite pleasures was shopping for a deal so you could often find her at thrift shops and yard sales. She was also an animal lover. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Betty Sue was loved by everyone who knew her and will be missed by all.
Left to cherish the many memories of Betty Sue are her husband, John Thomas; two sons, Seth Brockington and Joshua Thomas; one daughter, Elizabeth Thomas, a brother, Frank Melton; a sister, Johnnie Mae Whitted; also her four grandchildren, Wyatt, Addyson, Logan, and Camdon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service to honor the life of Betty Sue Knight will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 22, 2022 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
