Bessie J. Wells, 77, of Brunswick, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at SGHS Brunswick Campus. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Monday, December 19, 2011 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Hartzog and Bro. Stanley Luke officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery with Kevin Wells, Matthew Wells, Patrick Wells, Kenneth Goodbread, Curtis Tompkins, Chris Cain, and Billy Griner serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of Wells Produce and the Ladies Adult Sunday School Class of Northside Baptist Church.
Born October 22, 1934 in Tattnall County, Georgia to the late Leon and Claudine Bland, she was the owner and operator of Wells Produce. Mrs. Wells was a member of Northside Baptist Church and The Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. She had been a resident of Glynn County since 1955. She enjoyed hard work, never missing a days work at the produce company. Mrs. Wells also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and her beloved canine companion Bitsey, as well as camping and fishing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Wells, a granddaughter, Katie Wells, and a brother, Darrell Bland.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Wells, Mike Wells and wife Gloria, Jay Wells, and a daughter, Kay Flynt and husband David all of Brunswick, eight grandchildren, Kevin Wells, Debra Strean, Kim Ball, Kayce Hawkins, Michelle Wells, Matthew Wells, Patrick Wells, and Ali Wells, nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Marideen Brewton of Jesup, and Sandra Sutton of Claxton, and one brother, Willie Bland of Glennville.
