Alice Gale Jones Anderson

Fernandina Beach, FL - Alice Anderson, age (83), passed away on Thursday 4/21/2022 at University of Florida North Hospital, Jacksonville, FL. Alice was born on September 21, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida to William and Claudie Jones. They lived in Yulee, FL until 1956 when the family moved to Brunswick, GA area. She married her high school sweetheart and raised four children. In later years she met and married Glen Albert Anderson with no children born to this union. She spend 26 years taking care of her son Robert (Robbie) William Head who became paralyzed at nine.

Survivors include her three daughters Julie Gayle Combs husband Wayne, Jacksonville, FL, Joni Belinda Grady husband Gary, St. Marys, GA, Rhonda June Cline husband Bobby, Jacksonville, FL, step daughter Dana Ann Bertothy husband Jason, Philipsburg, PA, step son, Eric Adam Anderson wife Jovita, San Jose, CA, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, 10 step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild. Her sister Shirley Lokey, Birmingham, AL, her brother Harold (Bo) Jones and wife Thelma (TJ), Blythe Island, GA

She was preceded in death by her mother Claudie Gurtrude (Drury) Jones, father William Louis Jones, her son Robert (Robbie) William Head, her granddaughter Carrie Ann Foley, her grandson Ryan Foley and step daughter Kelly Lynn Anderson.

A graveside service will be held at the Palmetto Cemetery, 3412 Ross Rd., Brunswick, GA, on April 29, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. Funeral arrangements are handled by Edo Miller and Son Funeral Home, 3312 Glynn Ave., Brunswick, GA. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donation be made to American Cancer Society.
