Yvonne was born to Antonio Moreno and Guadalupe Sanchez Serna in Brownsville, Texas in 1964. A lifetime resident of Brownsville. A loving wife, mother, sister and aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Yvonne was loved greatly by those privileged enough to have known her. Yvonne taught at Perkins Middle School for 20 plus years and her love of teaching went far beyond the classroom. Always advocating for not only her students, but family members as well. She has a heart of a servant, always willing to help those who needed her guidance or direction. Yvonne's sense of humor and zest for life, is something that makes her truly unforgettable. Her legacy will live on through lives of her family and the countless students whose lives she touched. Yvonne, your memory will forever be alive in our hearts and will be deeply missed. Yvonne this is not a goodbye, but until we meet again in Heaven.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, Jorge Garcia; her son Jason Garcia; her brother Manuel Mendoza, her brother Jose Mendoza, her brother Armando Mendoza, her brother Juan Mendoza, her sister Alicia Trevino, her sister Sonia Mendoza, her sister Sandra Mendoza, her sister Nelda Moreno, her brother Gustavo Moreno, her brother Antonio Moreno, her brother Xavier Moreno and her brother Mario Moreno.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her father Antonio Moreno† and her mother Guadalupe Sanchez Moreno†; her sister Hipolita Molina†.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Yvonne will be held Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will occur Monday, June 26, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Chapel of Peace, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
Serving as pallbearers are Jorge Garcia, Jason Garcia, Jose Delgado , Federico Mendoza, Ernest Santibañez Jr., Eddie Santibañez, Eric Guitron, and Robert Molina.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jorge Garcia and Jason Garcia.
