William James McKinney, M.D., 76 passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 in Rancho Viejo, Texas. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 16, 1935, Bill McKinney grew up in Muskogee, Oklahoma and married his childhood sweetheart, Carol Ann Bradford in 1956. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Engineering and Physics and his medical doctorate from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. Dr. McKinney was Chief of Radiology at Brownsville Medical Center from 1972-2003 and practiced medicine until the day he passed. Bill loved to hunt and fish and followed all sports, especially his Oklahoma Sooners. He was a kind and generous man who deeply loved his family. Bill is one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, William James McKinney, Sr.; mother, Hazel Lucille Strickland and wife, Carol Ann McKinney.
Dr. McKinney is survived by his children, William Bradford McKinney (Janette Galvan McKinney), Rancho Viejo, James Camden McKinney (Deila Guadalupe McKinney), Rancho Viejo, Ann Michelle Evans (Charles Dunn Evans), Atlanta Georgia, Kristopher Lynn McKinney (Rhonda Miller McKinney) Harlingen and Carol Shannon McKinney, Los Fresnos; 8 grandchildren, Julia, William, Emily, Chase, Madison, Will, Alden and Camden.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista.
Chapel service will be held at 10 am Monday, May 14, 2012 at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista with committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be, William Bradford McKinney, James Camden McKinney, Kristopher Lynn McKinney, William Miller McKinney, Charles Dunn Evans and Michael Kent McKinney.
