Raul Sosa passed away in his home Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 9.:41 a.m surrounded by his loving family; at the age of 73 years old.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Silvia Sosa; two children Julia (Ruben) Ramos and Raul Sosa, Jr; three grandchildren Jose Julian Sosa, Ian Raul Sosa and Andrea Sosa; and one great granddaughter Sofia Sosa.
Raul graduated from Brownsville High School in 1969. He grew up as a migrant worker in the fields of Travers City, Michigan and was also a factory worker in Bowling Green, Ohio where he met and fell in love with his wife and lifelong partner of 51 years. They would have celebrated their 52nd anniversary on December 13, 2022.
He was an avid supporter of the Kuk Sool Won martial arts in which he obtained a black belt in 1998. Unfortunately, his martial arts training, which he enjoyed dearly, halted when he suffered his 1st heart attack in 1999. He continued to struggle with his health for many years until receiving a heart transplant in 2011.
Raul was a caring, loving, and well-respected local business owner of Sosa’s Grocery Store which he and his wife operated from 1976 to 2013. One of his favorite hobbies was movie playing movie trivia. He will be missed dearly by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
