Mr. Garcia, a lifelong educator, retired from Brownsville Independent School District in 1999 as a High School Administrator. He served as an educator for 30 years. Mr. Garcia will be missed by his friends and family. “There is a tide in the affairs of men which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures.”
He is preceded in death by his father: Oscar A. Garcia and brother: Arnoldo V. Garcia.
Left to cherish his memories is his mother: Felipa Vidrio Vda. De Garcia, loving spouse of 48 years: Maria E. Garcia, children: Oscar Garcia III, Lupita Chaloux, Adriana Garcia and Denise (David) Garcia, siblings: Chacha Wilson, Martha (Ruben) Kopara, Sylvia (John) Patriarca and Leonardo V. Garcia, grandchildren: Ashley, Megan, Christian, Jackie, Brandon, Angelina, Hannah, David and Wilfrid and great-grandchild: Emmalyn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 12pm to 9pm and Sunday, Agust 7, 2016 from 11am to 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Chapel service will take place on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 1pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, Followed by cremation.
Serving as his Honorary Pallbearers: Oscar Garcia III, David R. Garcia Jr., Omar Oropeza, Christian Juarez, Brandon Juarez, David R. Garcia III, John Patriarca and Wilfrid Chaloux III.
