On April 1, 2024 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Jesse Rodriguez embarked on his final journey to rest in heavenly paradise with our Lord and his late sister, Sylvia Rodriguez. He was born on December 24, 1983 to the late Mr. Nicolas Rodriguez and Mrs. Juanita Garcia de Rodriguez in Brownsville, Texas. A Christmas Eve baby, Jesse arrived as a gift to our family, bringing endless joy, love, and kindness.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Del Fierro; his precious children: Samantha, Ximena, and Ivan, his mother, Mrs. Juanita Garcia De Rodriguez, his siblings: Dr. Maria Rodriguez Casas (Efrain), Janie Hernandez (Eleazar), Maria Teresa LaTorre (Helen), Guadalupe “Lupita” Saldivar (Julio), Joe Rodriguez (Blanca), Elida Rangel (Arturo), extended family: Lety Alvarez, Abraham "Josh" Cordova, Yahir Amigon, and beloved nieces and nephews: Vanessa Casas-Ledesma (Gerardo), Joanna Hernandez, Art Jr. Rangel, Eleazar II Hernandez, Jennifer Casas, Emmanuel Hernandez, Alejandro Ortiz, Jeannette Saldivar, Karina Casas, Johnathan Saldivar, Alina Ortiz, Guillermo Garcia, Jose Angel Rodriguez, Alexa Rodriguez and Gael Garcia.
Jesse was nothing short of exceptional. He held a multitude of talents behind his boyish smile - from being proficient in ArcGID map design, AutoCAD Architecture Design, to serving as an Adaptive Leader. He was also a master craftsman and had recently acquired a flair for welding in which he earned his certification. Yet, these were not what Jesse considered his greatest achievements. Rather, his pride resided in the quiet strength he provided as an uncle, a brother, a son, a friend, a husband, and most importantly, an outstanding father to his greatest treasure, his three adored children: Samantha, Ximena, and Ivan.
Jesse leaves behind beautiful memories that encapsulates his inherent qualities. His exceptional bond with his nieces and nephews are etched into their hearts forever. He became an uncle at the age of 5 and grew up alongside Vanessa, creating happy and mischievous memories. In his early twenties, he quietly took the role of a father figure to Joanna, Eleazar, and Manny, who turned to him for guidance, love, and support and cherished their unique bond. Jesse took an active role in Manny’s multiple projects at Livestock Shows in the Valley and as far as Dallas. Jesse was the cool uncle each of his nieces and nephews could undoubtedly count on.
Above all, Jesse was an exceptional husband and father. He had a gift for making every moment special with his kids - whether it was trips to Disney World, backyard camping, outings to the farmers market, or trying a new restaurant. He actively supported and encouraged his children in their own unique paths by taking Ivan to car shows, Ximena to art galleries, and embraced his “dance dad” status with Sammy’s dance teams. He was a proud, loving father who cherished any opportunity to dote on his beloved kids. He enjoyed fifteen years of marriage to his forever love, Tere.
Jesse was special, and from his earliest days, his work ethic was incredibly evident. He took pride in his work as Operations Manager at Staybridge Suites, Co-Owner and Manager at JP Works, Ordinance Enforcement Officer with the City of Brownsville. Jesse truly loved and enjoyed his job as Vector Control Officer with the City of Brownsville. He was always willing to go that extra mile to perform his job at an exemplary level. This was quintessential Jesse; his resilient spirit, his loving nature, and his infectious hope.
Jesse was extraordinary. He wove himself seamlessly into the fabric of the Rodriguez family, his love overwhelmingly evident. An integral part of our family was his unwavering commitment to see the best in all of us, mentoring, guiding, and at times just being fully present with unconditional support. Jesse knew how to make unforgettable memories.
The void Jesse leaves is immense. We will profoundly miss the radiant spirit he brought into every room. His contagious zeal for life lit up our everyday life. He had a knack for making each day special, preparing meals from his awesome grilling skills, or recommending the best restaurants. His attentiveness and nurturing care towards his mother were nothing short of pure love. That smile of Jesse's--the one that made you feel seen, cherished, and important—we will carry that in our hearts, forever.
It is our hope that Jesse is remembered not in mourning, but in celebration; celebration of an illustrious life lived fully. He gave his best to each one of us, creating treasured lifetime memories. He was a symbol of joy, brimming with life, an incredible influencer, and a robust guiding light. Jesse, though your journey with us has ended unexpectedly, your spirit lives on, eternally radiant in our hearts.Jesse was a man who helped reach highest potential by pushing others to make better choices. He touched lives like a gentle breeze, leaving a touch of his warmth wherever he went. As we say our goodbyes, we celebrate Jesse for who he truly was - an incredible soul. THANK YOU, Jesse.
