Jacquelyn Walker Williams

Jacquelyn was born April 30, 1938, in Brownsville, Texas. She was a dedicated Girl Scout leader in Brownsville for over 20 years, as she raised her kids and started her family. She was a past member of Portway Baptist Church for many years. She was the owner of Gordon’s Bait and Tackle Inc., opened in 1973, along with her husband of 57 years, Gordon Williams. Also, she worked at Gordon’s with her loving children and grandchildren. She was also a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and second mother to many.

She was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Patsy Walker, Gwendolyn Crocker, Kathlyn Williamson, and Merilyn Wall; and by 2 brothers, A.B. Walker Jr., and William E. Walker Sr.; and by her parents, A.B. Walker Sr. and Hermie Oleta Adams Walker.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon E. Williams; children, Sheila (Walter) Montes of Bandera, Texas, Gary (Sherry) Williams, Amanda (Jimmy) Burres both of Brownsville, Texas; sister, Carolyn (Clayton) Gardner of Jasper, Ala.;brother, Richard Walker of Brownsville, Texas; grandchildren, Melissa (Marcos) Camacho, Gary (Bertha) and Kimberly Williams, Joshua and Jared Eaves, and Ashley Montes; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Justin Camacho.

Visitation was held from 5pm to 9pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.

A chapel service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 with a committal service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Williams Jr., Joshua Eaves, Marcus Camacho, Daniel Espinoza, Douglas Walker and David Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Gardner, Larry Adams, Walter Montes, Jimmy Burres, Kenneth Jelinek, Eddie Barton, Ralph Baker, Roy Rentfrow, and Joe Medrano, Jared Eaves.
