Irene worked at Brownsville Community Health Center from 1982 to 2001 in the Women’s Center Department. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren who she loved unconditionally. She loved gardening and being outdoors. She enjoyed spending time talking to her birds.
Mrs. Cortinas Treviño is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco Treviño Jr., parents, Ricardo and Maria Vera Cortinas; brothers, Roberto Cortinas, Ricardo Cortinas, and Raul Cortinas; and her sister, Teresa C. Aguirre.
Irene is survived by her two daughters, Dora (Hector) Ramirez and Diana (Denis) Cano; grandchildren, Sadie Irene Ramirez, Amanda Aileen Ramirez, Savannah Lynn Ramirez, Denis Anthony (Elizabeth) Cano, Deanna Alyssa Cano, and Daisy Arlene Cano; sister, Santos C. (Aniceto) Ramos; numerous nieces; nephews; and one great granddaughter on the way.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 12:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Rosary to be conducted at 8:00p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Mass will be held Friday, January 9, 2015 at 9:00a.m. at Immaculate Conception Cathedral (1218 E. Jefferson), followed by committal service at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Hector Ramirez, Denis Cano, Denis Anthony Cano, Kevin Aguirre, Wesley Aguirre, and Julian Rivera.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Sadie I. Ramirez, Amanda A. Ramirez, Savannah L. Ramirez, Deanna A. Cano, and Daisy A. Cano.
