Our mother was a remarkable, strong, intelligent, tenacious, loving, and tender lady. She was the glue and the soul of our family. She celebrated and lived a rare romance and love story with her late husband, soul mate, and best friend, Cesario Gonzalez, Sr. She was a devoted, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and godmother. She had an amazing Christmas Day with her family and left us unexpectedly to spend Christmas Night in Heaven with God and the rest of her family. She is now resting peacefully with God.
Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her daughter, Guadalupe Carmen (Manuel) Casanova; her sons, Cesario (Suzanne) Gonzalez Jr., Lorito Antonio (Becki) Gonzalez, Julio Cesar (Deanne) Gonzalez; sister Antonia Hernandez; brother Juan M. Hernandez; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, along with step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gonzalez is preceded in death by her loving husband Cesario Gonzalez, Sr. †; her father, Antonio Hernandez†; her mother, Victoria F. Hernandez†; her sisters Elva H. Martinez †, Margarita H. Dives †, Maria Elena Hernandez † and her brother Santiago Hernandez †.
A visitation for Guadalupe will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 555 W St Francis St, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
Serving as pallbearers are Cesario Gonzalez Jr., Lorito Antonio Gonzalez, Julio Cesar Gonzalez, Cesario Gonzalez III, Manuel Casanova Jr., Rolando M. Casas, Alejandro J. Lucio and Dennis Dimas.
