Eva T. Salinas, age 86 passed away on August 6th at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family at bedside. She was born on March 4, 1936 in San Benito, Texas to Gustavo Trevino and Guadalupe Gonzales.
Eva had a passion for working with children and worked as an educator for 22 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, cooking, baking, and home improvements but most of all she enjoyed being with her loved ones. She was of a very strong catholic faith and was a member of St. Catholic Church. Many close friends remember her as a second mother, always caring, always sharing wisdom and always ready to lend a helping hand. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her also remember her always cheerful and polite personality. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Alonzo A. Salinas, her father Gustavo Treviño, her mother Guadalupe Gonzales, her sisters Hortencia Diaz, Ester Garcia, Ofelia Hudson, and Guadalupe Olivarez.
She is survived by her beloved son Dwayne Salinas, daughter Michelle Salinas and her one and only granddaughter Ashley Nicole McAfee. Also survived by her brother Isidro Treviño and sisters Olga Fischer, Delia Orona and Tina Sanchez.
A visitation for Eva will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A funeral mass will occur Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St Luke Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Dr, Brownsville, Texas 78521. An entombment will occur Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
