Mr. Rodriguez was a Marine Corps Veteran. He worked for several years at Lopez Wholesale meats and Poultry and Pace Grocery and retired from El Centro Supermarket on Four Corners. Carlos was a Cowboy fan and enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Rodriguez, Dolores C. Rodriguez; sisters, Alicia Rodriguez, Yolanda Rodriguez and brother, Leonel Rodriguez.
He is survived by his wife, Felipa M. Rodriguez; children, Judy Abete Barrios (Ramon, Jr.), Guadalupe Abete, Jr. (Norma), Carlos Rodriguez III, Gerardo Rodriguez, Adriana A. Rodriguez; sisters, Gloria Hernandez (Eligio+), Susie R. De Priest, Dora Rodriguez, Sylvia Rodriguez-Porter (Shawn); brothers, Erasmo Rodriguez (Lucia), Joel Rodriguez (Maria+), Rene Rodriguez (Natalia); grandchildren, Jason Barrios, Ian Abete, Ramon Barrios III (Claudia), Ashley Abete; great grandchildren, Iliana Barrios, Julissa Barrios and various nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1pm to 9pm with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7pm on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, October 21, 2011 at St. Joseph Church, 555 W. St. Francis, Brownsville, Texas with a committal service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ian Abete, Ramon Barrios III, Jason Barrios, Joe Ponce, Michael Rodriguez and Pablo Villarreal, Jr.
