Born on August 11th, 1928, in Estación Los Aldamas, Nuevo León, México, Armandina (Dina) Barrera Gonzalez was the daughter of Ambrosio and Paulita Barrera Guerra.
In 1952, Dina married the love of her life, Matías González Rodríguez, with whom she shared three children: Javier, Mario, and Juan Carlos.
Dina was preceded in death by her loving husband, Matías, and her cherished son, Juan Carlos.
Armandina's legacy of love and warmth is deeply ingrained in the hearts of those who knew her. Dina is survived by her two devoted sons, Javier of Brownsville, Texas, and Mario of Port Isabel, Texas (along with his wife Dorothy, and their children Ana Laura and Mario Alberto Jr), and grandson Johnny Gonzalez of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Their lives stand as a testament to her enduring spirit and guidance.
Dina was also a faithful attendee of church services at First Baptist Church of Brownsville and cherished the fellowship and friendships she made there.
A visitation for Armandina will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm in Chapel of Peace, at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A Chapel Service will occur Friday, April 12, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 7852, Followed by a burial that will occur Friday, April 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Buena Vista Burial Park.
