Born August 8, 1931, and formerly of Chicopee Massachusetts, Lorraine resided in Florida for nineteen years. She passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2016, in the company of her children. She was a devoted wife and mother as well as a beloved grandmother and friend. Lorraine was best known for her contagious sense of humor, strong work ethic and generous spirit. She worked for many years in the sewing industry before retiring to Florida and touched many people’s lives through her creativity. She enjoyed baking apple pies, canning and working in her garden as well as doing arts and crafts but mostly enjoyed spending time with her eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Lorraine's husband, Maurice Castonguay, preceded her in death in 1997. They were both communicants of St. Frances Cabrini Parish as well as life long members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She is survived by her daughter, Susan, and husband, Rick Mielinkowski, of Chicopee MA.; daughter, Mary, and husband, Mark James, of Brooksville, FL; son, George Castonguay, of Lanesboro, MA.; son, Thomas, and wife, Nina Castonguay, of West Springfield, MA. and daughter, Lori, and her husband, Steven Beard, of Spring Hill, FL, as well as a brother, Leonard Jarry of Massachusetts, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her absence is deeply felt, but her memory and legacy will forever be cherished.
