I remember when Grandpa would play board games with me and build stuff with me, like the morse code machine, and wooden trucks and ships.  He was the one who inspired me to be creative and to one day be an engineer.  I really miss him.  I’m really sad that I wont be able to make new memories with him, but I’m so glad for the 11 years of memories I do have with him.  I’m glad he’s in heaven where he is no longer in pain.  I love him forever.

Ken and I will always remember Larry fondly as at least 5 days a week, we'd walk by his home on our daily walking routine. We quickly bonded as we discovered we were all born again Christians and we would all love to share and talk about the goodness of our Lord. We'd encourage each other and Larry was always as us so kind, polite and full of Jesus's love. He genuinely cared for others. He'd suggest helpful things to Ken and I that would help us in our walk and just for everyday living. And of course, he'd share about his beautiful wife, children and grandchildren as we was so proud of all of them. He will be greatly missed, as we will never forget Larry. Now He's with our Lord in glory and thus brings us great comfort and hope, knowing we'll all be reunited again some day in heaven. Our heartfelt prayers for comfort, peace and strength go out to Barb, his family and all his friends. May our Lord Jesus be with you all during your time of loss. 

I remember when Papa and Gramma were up and I asked Papa if he would read me a story. I was very young then and I didn't know how to read. He said "Yes" and we all gathered around to hear the story. He was very special to me  and my brothers and sisters.He was really nice.

We only knew Larry for several months,as new members of Spring Hill Baptist Church.He and Barbara welcomed us like he had known us for our entire lives.What a beautiful God loving man. Our hearts go out to his family and beloved wife.

I remember when Papa took me for a ride on his scooter. One year for my birthday, he gave me an A7 Corsair model.I also remember when Papa taught me how to play the trumpet. He was a good player and I enjoyed playing with him. I loved hearing his cheery voice ringing when our family sang together. He always had something for us kids. I am named after one of his favorite heroes.I loved him very much and I will miss him a lot. He knew Jesus Christ as his Savior and  I know we will meet again in Heaven.

On my last birthday, everyone was busy because we had all been traveling, and no one had time for my birthday. But Papa remembered my birthday and gave me a small blue model F4U Corsair. That meant so much to me! Then he took time to put it together with me. I remember every morning when they came in, I would always say, "Good morning, Admiral! Can I get you your cup of coffee?" He would play along with me like it was real. I can't wait until we are in Heaven and we can walk and talk and sing together again. 

I remember before they left, Papa and Gramma always gave us $5. Papa also once gave us little boxes and I still treasure mine. I remember sometimes we would be cleaning up the kitchen from eating and Papa and Gramma would be walking the dogs and we would ask them if we could walk the dogs with them. It was always a treat if we got to walk the dogs with them!  

I always enjoyed it when Papa and Gramma would visit us. Papa would bring us little trinkets and gifts to play with. He would tell us stories and read us books. We would race to get ready in the mornings and we would wait for them to come out of their camper. After supper we would all gather in the living room to sing and listen to his stories. I enjoyed listening to him play his trumpet. He always liked the sunshine. I am glad he is in a place where the Lord is the light. 

Larry Roach: Fellow Christian, Loyal American,  Dedicated and loving husband, father and treasured FRIEND to Laverne and Janice Dratt. That is how we will remember him until we meet again.

What can you say, Larry was such an example in so many ways for me. Can't wait to catch up with him again in heaven. I'll have a cup of coffee in your honor out on the deck very soon. Love you brother.

There is no easy way to summarize all I feel about my Dad. I think my favorite memories of him are when he and Mom would come up to visit. The children were always so delighted to see the van pull up to our driveway! Dad was always so patient with the children...He brought them homemade bows and arrows he had made, a DIY sling shot project, taught my one son how to play trumpet, and made each of them a tiny treasure box for their little trinkets.   One of my other favorite memories is singing with him. My Mom often played piano at church, so my Dad and I sang a lot together and we all sang together when they were up visiting. These were times I will never forget- times that made you thank God for His love (to sing about), our family (to sing with), freedoms (to sing without fear of being overheard), provision (for the meal we had just shared and filled our tummies), and safety (as Mom and Dad would head to their motorhome at the end of the evening). Lastly, Dad was someone who was kind, easy to please, and steady. You never felt awkward around him and I think he and I kind of thought a little alike (we are both backwards with modern technology!). Even when he was suffering from cancer, he kept a sense of humor and always thought of others...He was thoughtful to people that others mostly didn't notice. I am thankful he is not suffering anymore, but I will miss his cheerful voice and smile and wish we had more time together. I am so thankful the Lord loved my Dad so much He was willing to die for his sins and prepare for him a home in Heaven. ...Eye hath not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. I Cor. 2:9
