He graduated from the Westchester County, New York Police Academy in 1994, and joined the Yonkers Police Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant before his retirement after 20 years of service. Jim relocated to Florida after his retirement, living in Brooksville for a number of years before settling in Weeki Wachee. He was an avid traveller and outdoorsman, and especially loved exploring the southwestern US with his partner Sharon Crosby in their RV. He also had a keen interest in Southern history and had visited many museums and historic sites. Passionate about the game of baseball, he was a lifelong Yankees fan, and could always be found cheering them on wherever he happened to be.
He is survived by his beloved Sharon, his brothers John (Betsy) of Eastchester NY, Brian (Laura) of Groton Long Point, CT and Paul (Marilyn) of Manhasset, NY, eleven nieces and nephews and numerous cousins and close friends, as well as his cherished pets. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Eileen, and his brother Frank.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 1 to 2 pm at The Rock Church, 11231 Ponce De Leon Blvd, Brooksville, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at the church. Burial will be private.
