Carl Thomas Ritter

RITTER, Carl Thomas, aged 88 of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at his home. Born and raised in Coal City, West Virginia, he came to Spring Hill nearly 41 years ago from Huntingtown, Maryland. He retired as a store manager after working for 28 years for A & P Grocery Stores in Maryland.  After moving to Florida, he worked for Publix Grocery Stores for 36 years. He served as an Army paratrooper from 1953 to 1955.  He became an active member of the Northcliffe Church in Spring Hill, singing in the church choir.  He is preceded in death by one son, Michael Alexander in 2003, and daughter Sherri Ann Ritter in 2008.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carol, son David Ritter of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, daughter Lisa Davenport of Salisbury, North Carolina, stepson Rick Kloss (Susan) of Owings, Maryland, stepdaughter Teresa O'Donnell of Spring Hill, Florida, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Viewings will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. There will be a short one hour viewing on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 10am - 11am at the Northcliffe Church in Spring Hill with funeral services following at 11am. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery at 1:30 pm, June 25, 2021.
