Raymond graduated from Midwood High School in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating high school, he had already established a reputation as a prodigy in the game of chess. A talent he passed on to his son Steven. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from CUNY’s Brooklyn College. From there, he became a New York City public school teacher before deciding to pursue a career in law. He obtained a Juris Doctor Degree from Syracuse University School of Law. Thereafter, he had a prolific career practicing criminal law. First becoming a homicide assistant in the Kings County District Attorney’s office. Following that he began a spectacular career as a defense attorney practicing primarily International, Federal and State criminal law, representing everyone from oil tycoons, government representatives in Panama and beyond. He gave his life to public service and represented those from the very rich to those who came from oppressed communities. More than a lawyer, he was a community activist, a mentor, a father, and a role model. Most importantly, he was a fighter and he fought for everyone. For all of his work and commitment to all of us, he will be greatly missed.
