Phil was predeceased by his first wife of 38 years, Anne (Gulinello) Dovico, and his second wife, Catherine Lanza. He was the devoted son of the late Filippo and Providenza (Zummo) Dovico. Phil is survived by his loving daughters, Linda Franchini (late husband Dominick) and Dina Farley (husband Ed). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and their spouses, and a cherished great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren.
Phil served with honor as a paratrooper and glider man in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army during World War II. After his military service, Phil worked for many years as a semi-tractor trailer driver for United Haulage.
Phil enjoyed frequent trips to Atlantic City, bowling, and cheering on the New York Mets. Most of all, Phil treasured time spent with his family and friends. Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 6, from 9-11 AM at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 W 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223. A church service will follow at St. Simon & Jude at 11:45 AM, An interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island.
