Roger Stevens passed away peacefully at home June 9, 2023 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1940 to Joseph and Rose (Lehovetzky) Stevens. In 1951, he and his sister Lydia emigrated to Philadelphia where he was raised by his beloved aunt and uncle Juliette and Benjamin Fox. Deeply patriotic, Roger served in the U.S. Army and was proud to serve his country. Professionally, he was an electronic engineer who worked in technical sales. Roger was known for his friendly and open nature. Everybody was always happy to see him. He was an avid boater who relished summers and later full time living on Cape Cod. Upon retirement, he volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and also as a driver for people with medical needs. Roger selflessly loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Rebecca (Kraycer) Stevens, his daughter, Lisa Stevens and her husband Frank Kirk, his daughter Bettina Stevens and her husband Ron Cervasio, his three grandchildren, Kayla and Alison Kirk and Mack Cervasio. He was a devoted uncle to Steven, Ellen, Wendy and David.
A private gravesite funeral service for family will be held on June 12 at the Baker Street Cemetery in West Roxbury. Shiva to follow at his daughter Bettina’s residence.
