Robert E. Pill

Robert E. Pill, Age 78, of Newton Centre, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 27, 2016. Beloved husband of Cynthia (Fruchtman) Pill. Loving father of Laura & Jim Jacobson, Daniel Pill & his wife Jen Spencer, and Karen Fiello. Adored grandfather of Matthew, Allison, Alec, Jacob, Joshua, Eliza, Benton and Ally. Dear brother of the late Arlene & Selig Friedberg and brother of Alfred & Lois Pill. Fond brother-in-law of Joel Fruchtman & his wife Maureen Murphy. Caring uncle to all his nieces and nephews, and devoted friend to many.

Known for his commitment to family, wit and humor, and love of the theatre. After retirement, Bob turned his talents to community service, tutoring math to children in the Newton and Boston schools, attending and teaching classes at several adult life-long learning institutes, and volunteering at NewTV and Newton At Home.

Services at Temple Beth Elohim, 10 Bethel Road, Wellesley on Monday, February 29 at 1:30pm. Burial at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Following burial, memorial observance will be at his late residence until 8:00pm and continuing Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4:00pm and 7-9:00pm each day.
