Mark Elliott Levine, President of Towers Motor Parts and an active community member in Nashua, New Hampshire and various New England Jewish communities, died on September 16, 2023. He was 78 years old.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, he was a graduate of Hebron Academy and McGill University, where he met his devoted wife Lynda. Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage this year His study at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law ended with his induction into the United States National Guard. After his service he returned home to lead the family business, which allowed him the opportunity to develop many friendships both locally and beyond. His relationships were built on a sterling reputation for honesty and integrity, and he was loved by his customers, employees, suppliers and everyone else he encountered in his work life.
Upon his retirement in 2015, he was able to focus his attention back on his love of learning. He took every opportunity to expand his knowledge, reading voraciously and attending regular online study sessions. He loved to gain insight into a wide variety of perspectives and always sought out connections with other people.
Quietly and without fanfare, Mark donated significant time and resources to a number of important causes, making a meaningful difference to the lives he affected. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Nashua West, where he spearheaded many committees. One of his most fulfilling roles was as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, in which he participated weekly for years. In addition to his dedication to these local causes, he was also a vibrant and active member of the Nashua Jewish community. Among his roles were Chairman of the United Jewish Appeal of Nashua and longtime Board Member of Temple Beth Abraham. He was delighted to commission the writing of a sefer Torah for Chabad of New Hampshire.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda (Borer) Levine, and his children Shana Levine Senzel (Richard) of Pittsfield, Massachusetts and Ken Levine (Jessie Mocle) of Nashua. He was the beloved Zaidie of Jared and Ethan Senzel and Teddy and Joey Levine. He is also survived by his brother Jeff Levine (Donna) of Nashua and brother-in-law Leonard E. Borer (Sharon Stern) of Ottawa, Ontario. He was blessed with the love of his extended family and friends and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Yair Melamed, Dr. Carlos Fernandez del Castillo, Dr. Lawrence Blaszkowsky, Michelle Ciszewski and all of their wonderful teams, each of which sustained the high quality of his life so well, and for so long. We are also eternally grateful to the kind medical professionals at the Intensive Care Unit at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.
