We are neighbors in LOD, just a few doors down from the Tobaskys. We wanted to send our deepest, heart-felt condolences  to the  Tobasky family all. We are so saddened to hear of his passing 😢 He was our "hero"!, our role model...We'd be winding down for the evening, watching TV, and Lou would be on the breezeway first making his way home! He's smart, witty, vibrant, and truly inspirational!!We will all miss him terribly, truly a "one of a kind"! Our hearts  are with you.

For the past sixty seven years my sister was blessed with the most devoted husband, Andrew, Jeffrey, Karen and Evan were blessed with the most caring and dedicated father, Larry and I we’re blessed with the most amazing brother, my children we’re blessed with the most sincere and generous uncle, thousands of children we’re blessed with the teacher who cared enough to make an impact on each of their lives,.
I could go on and on and on, but the message would be the same, namely that you were a unique, brilliant, generous, most wonderful man who will always have a very special place in all of our hearts!
May you rest in eternal peace together with all of your loved ones.

Louis was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, and family man. His family was his life. Whenever anyone had a problem he was always there. When I was very sick in FL he flew from Boston with Barbara to be with me. It meant a lot and I will always remember that. It's very sad that when he got sick the hospital couldn't help him, because he did everything in his power to help others.

He always wanted to take people out for a good time. He loved to talk to people. He loved to read books at home and at the LOD pool. He wanted to find out everything going on and take it all in. He loved going to FAU lectures. He especially loved when people would come to his house to eat or visit and he would talk for hours, slapping his leg. He loved to make people laugh. He also liked to buy clothes for Barbara for special occassions.

He didnt show his emotions, didn't like to be touched, and never said "I love you" but he had a giant heart.  I knew what a loving wonderful man he was through his actions.  I felt close to him like he was my brother. I will miss him very much.

Larry

Very few teachers stand out in my memory as did Mr. Tobasky.
He was my sixth grade teacher at Roger Walcott School in 1961-1962.
He demanded students take education seriously and made learning interesting.
He exposed us to the world of presidential elections, importance of memorizing famous poems, his piano playing.
I left Boston Public Schools due to my family moving, but the skills he helped me develop as an eleven year old, helped me be a successful person.
May the important lessons he gave others bring you some joy.
