Khaim Altshuler of Roslindale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 97 years of age. Son of the late Enta and Girsh Altshuler. Loving husband of the late Maya Shakhnovich. Beloved father of Galina Tydykov and her husband Valery of Newton. Cherished grandfather of Maya Tydykov. Brother of the late Sholom, Mendl, Leya and Sosya.
Khaim was born in Belarus on January 12, 1927. He lived a long life, but despite all the struggles and hardship, he was a very kind and happy person. Khaim’s father was killed during the WWII, the rest of the family survived the Holocaust. He attended railway road technical school, and later got a Bachelor Degree in literature to become a teacher. Khaim worked as a railway station manager for a living, and wrote poetry as a hobby. He wrote several books and was self-published. Khaim then migrated with the family in 1994 to the USA and was not employed here, but helped raise his granddaughter Maya. He will be remembered always.
