Kenneth D. Elgart, of Newton on Friday, January 14, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Judith F. (Ellis) Elgart. Loving father of Donna Elgart Medoff & her husband David of Newton and James Elgart & his wife Gisele of Newton. Adored grandfather of Jacob and Robin Medoff and Sophie and Isabelle Elgart. Cherished companion of Nancy (Fisher) Korman. Devoted son of the late Oscar & Edna (Klask) Elgart. Dear brother of the late Eleanor Gilfix, Vincent Elgart and Richard Elgart and brother-in-law of Sylvia (Ellis) & the late Harold Gorin and the late Marion (Ellis) Sherman. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Ken was the founder of Elgart & Company, a CPA firm providing services to the McDonald’s franchisee community in the Northeast for over 30 years. Ken was proud to be part of the McDonald’s family and was instrumental in helping many, many clients achieve their dreams as successful owner operators.
Ken was a consummate storyteller with a great sense of humor. He made friends wherever he went and was a connoisseur of fine food and beverage.
An avid traveler, Ken and Nancy traveled to over 50 countries during the past 19 years. Many lives were touched by Ken’s warm and generous spirit. He was a mentor to young accountants joining the profession, a philanthropist and active participant in many charitable organizations including the Jewish Cemetery Association of Massachusetts (JCAM), and a proud former Marine. Ken and his late wife Judy were known far and wide for opening their hearts and home to anybody that was alone for the holidays, needed a place to stay, or simply wanted a home cooked meal.
