Gloria (Kaufman) Younger, 82, died peacefully on June 28, 2016 at NYU Langone Hospital in New York City. Born and raised in Cambridge, she studied at Cambridge High & Latin and Harvard Business Schools. She was employed for many years as executive secretary to upper management at A.D. Little in Cambridge, and Citgo in New York City. She lived in Manhattan with her loving husband of 50 years, Calvin Younger, and her devoted daughter, Rachel-Anne Younger. In later years she functioned as business manager for her husband Calvin's advertising business.
Gloria was a dedicated mother, a phenomenal planner, a discerning eater and a sympathetic listener. She was the daughter of the late Sophie and Hyman Kaufman of Cambridge. She is survived by her siblings, Harvey Kaufman, Sally Hoffer (Stuart), and Marcia Kaufman (Steve Hladis), and several nieces and nephews, as well as her many close relatives and friends. Her brother Jack died in 1989, and sister Roberta, in 2016.
Services at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, Friday, July 1st at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Family and friends may visit at the home of Harvey Kaufman on Friday following the internment.
