Dr. Alex Henry Ray, of Newton, MA died on Friday, June 28th, 2024. He was 81 years old.
Dr. Ray was a practicing physician in the Boston area for over 30 years. Prior to his clinical work in allergy and asthma, he earned his Ph.D. in immunology and spent time conducting research in the U.S. and Finland.
Alex was a loving father with a great sense of humor and a devoted, supportive husband. He was humble and patient. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family.
He leaves his wife of 34 years, Ellen S. Light; son, Eric S. Ray; and daughter, Aliza R. Ray and her husband, Frederick J. Denton. Alex was born October 21st, 1942 to the predeceased, Sidney Ray and Sylvia Steinberg Ray of Bronx, NY.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 5th at Temple Shalom of Newton, 175 Temple St, Newton, MA.
Shiva will be held Saturday and Sunday from 7-9pm.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
