Ronald Clinton Harrison, born on December 5th, 1930 in Milwaukee Wisconsin, passed on from this world to eternal love, peace and joy surrounded by his family on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the age of 93.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents, Clinton and Margaret Harrison; his brother Albert (Jean) Harrison, sister Alice (Emil) Gruell and longtime friend Patricia Mielke.
Ron is survived by his beloved sons, Mark (Lori) Harrison and Wayne (Theresa) Harrison; grandchildren Kayla and Brandon Harrison; and sister Dolores (John) Korbel. Ron is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ron grew up in Milwaukee with his 3 siblings. Following school, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning home from his service, he married his beloved wife Shirley in 1951 and started a family. The majority of his career was spent working as a police officer for the Wauwatosa Police Department. After serving as an officer for 36 years, he retired in 1987.
Ron enjoyed and took pride in his work as a police officer.
Ron was raised during the Great Depression and learned the value of money and hard work. Concerning himself he maintained the values he learned early in life, but when it came to “others”, especially his family, Ron was so very generous with both his time and treasure.
Throughout his life, Ron enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting and selling antiques with his sons at flea markets. Ron also enjoyed traveling and was an excellent sheepshead player. In his later years, many Sundays were spent visiting with family and friends playing cards.
Ron’s family would like to thank the devoted staff at Aurora Hospice for their compassionate and professional care; especially, Keyanna, Tiffany and Megan.
Visitation Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 9:00am until Time of Memorial Service at 10:30am at Wisconsin Memorial Park-Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield.
