Her funeral will be held at Prairie Winds Community Center in Bridgeport at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, with Father Elias Warren officiating. A Trisagion Prayer Service will be Friday, February 7, at 6:30 p.m. at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Bayard.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, any memorials honoring Robin be made in care of Robin Lapaseotes Memorial, which will be allocated to charities at a later date. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.bbchapels.com. Bridgeport Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Robin was born on July 31, 1957, in Bridgeport, to Calvin and Virginia (Christensen) Coulter. She attended Bridgeport Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1975. Robin continued her undergraduate education as an animal science major at University of Nebraska –Lincoln (UNL), and earned her Master of Science degree of psychology at Chadron State College.
She was united in marriage to Peter C Lapaseotes of Bridgeport on June 24, 1984.
Her enthusiasm for life was evidenced by her numerous community involvement activities and eagerness for helping others. She was a member of the Executive Committee of the Morrill County Cattlemen, and served as Tax Chairperson for Nebraska Cattlemen. She was a past board member of Bridgeport Public School Board, Morrill County Weed District, and Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program at UNL. A fervent teacher, Robin established and directed her own young girl’s camping group, and was an avid mentor for youths seeking opportunities in agriculture. She was an active member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and sang in the church choir.
Robin purchased and operated Coulter Ranch in Redington, where she later established Coulter Feedlot. Her passion for cattle and horses drove her lifestyle. She routinely traveled to show livestock, earning several accolades in her younger years. She was a staunch proponent of preserving the land and improving it for future generations. She frequently took advantage of using her chores on the ranch to host friends at her remote cabin in the Wildcat Hills. Her free-spirited personality was evident, as she welcomed and embraced anyone sharing and taking part in her activities and lifestyle. She will be deeply missed by her family and loving community.
Robin is survived by her husband Pete; son Constantine of Chicago, IL, daughters Nicole (Jacob) Dean, and Cassandra, both of Bridgeport; grandchild Waylon Dean; parents Calvin and Virginia Coulter of Redington; mother-in-law Chrysoula Lapaseotes of Bridgeport; sisters Sheryll Coulter of Saint Louis, MO, Susan Coulter of Scottsbluff and Kris Coulter of Santa Fe, NM; brothers Kenneth (Peggy) Coulter of Scottsbluff and Lewis (Susan) Coulter of Bridgeport; sister-in-law Helen (Steve) Plummer of Bridgeport; brother-in-law Nicholas (Angela) Lapaseotes of Bridgeport; “McGill”, as well many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Bern and Esther Coulter and Carl and Lucille Christensen, and father-in-law Constantine Lapaseotes.
