Robert Max Hampe

He was born to parents Kurt and Anna Hampe, on January 13, 1937 in Lincoln, Illinois. Robert graduated from Lincoln High School.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Kurt and Anna Hampe. He married Barbara in 1957 who preceded him in death in 2015 after a 57-year marriage. Robert is survived by his brother, Richard Hampe (Dorothy) and his children, Kurt Hampe (Gail), Joseph Hampe (Jennifer) and James Hampe (Kimberly); grandchildren, Michael Hampe, Nicholas Hampe, Brian Hampe, Stephen Hampe, Windy Hampe and Sarah Hampe.

Robert spent his life as a carpenter and loved his craft. He went on to become the Coordinator of the Carpenter Apprentice Program in Central Illinois where he passed on his skills to countless craftsmen. During this time, he garnered accolades and national awards for his work with the program. He thoroughly enjoyed having the ability to teach. Robert was a retired member of Carpenters Local 644 in Pekin, Illinois.

A Life Celebration will be held at 4:00pm Wednesday, September 9th with visitation from 2:00pm – 4:00pm Wednesday at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alive Hospice or St. Jude’s.
