Laura F. Chapin

Mrs. Laura F. Chapin, age 93 of Nashville, TN, formerly of Port Huron, Michigan, passed away Friday, April 09, 2010. Mrs. Chapin was the daughter of the late John E. and Laura F. Smith Livingstone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Garrett Chapin, Jr. and son, Martin Garrett Chapin, III. She is survived by daughters, Pam (Don) Ross and Joanne (David) Jesuale; sister, Mae Hardenburgh; brother, David Livingstone; grandchildren, Raquel (Ed) Stephenson, Laura (Par) Boyd, Andrea (Andy) Siudara, Tiffany(Tom) Hoyt, Kimberly Jesuale and David Garrett Jesuale; and seven beloved great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, July 3, 2010 at First Congregational Church in Port Huron, MI with Rev. James Edwards officiating.

Mrs Chapin was a member of the First Congregational Church in Port Huron, Michigan, where she was a founder and Chairmen of the Columbarium Committee. She was President of the Port Huron Musical Group and President of the Port Huron Garden Club.

Mrs. Chapin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wayne State University. She was the first women President of their Senior Class of 1939. Mrs. Chapin was a devoted wife, mother and a respected community leader. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
