Elaine was the daughter of Jacob Bussema and Myrna (Zimmerman) Bussema and was born in Chicago, IL June 17, 1924.
She had both a passion for fashion and a flair for the arts and was a longtime avid fan of the Eagles and Waylon Jennings.
She is preceded by her husband, Earl C. Valentine; brother, Jack Bussema and grandson, Aaron J. Valentine.
Survived by her daughter, Catherine Valentine and her partner, Adrian Flores, son, William Valentine and his wife, Holly (Sheets) Valentine, niece, Tina Delarme and many loving cousins. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the caregivers at Brighton Gardens who took thoughtful and loving care of her.
Visitation will be held from four o’ clock in the evening until eight on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Brentwood Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Harding Academy, Nashville TN.
