She is survived by her sons, Kelly Prince, Kenny (Mary) Gilpin and Patrick (Julie) Gilpin, grandchildren, Stephan Prince, Hailey Gilpin Enderson, Cale Gilpin, Casey Gilpin, Breanna Gilpin Trout, Allen Gilpin, and Jeremiah Gilpin,
she is also survived by 14 Great-grandchildren.
Anne was a 1970 graduate of Peabody college at Vanderbilt University and also received her masters +30 at TSU. She dedicated her life to teaching at local elementary schools such as Warner, Kirkpatrick, Lockland, and Norman Binkley.
After retirement she continued as a substitute teacher and tutor. She was an avid bowler and bowled in a league at Tusculum Lanes for 50+ years.
She loved ballroom dancing, gardening, board games, playing cards and was in a bridge club.
She also loved her dogs, Chloe and Louie. She often said some of her favorite memories as a youth were on Center Hill Lake, a place she adored all her life.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday December 28, 2022 at 1 PM at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held at a later date in Smithville, TN.
Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers with her bridge club and Dekalb County High School sisters serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff at Harmony at Victory Station and Avalon Hospice.
