Tracy Edward Reeves

Tracy Edward Reeves, age 60 passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020. Tracy was the third child born in Washington, DC on February 20, 1960 to the late Staley H. and Lillian G. Reeves. Tracy grew up in a loving home with his two sisters and three brothers.

Tracy attended Washington DC public schools. He worked many jobs from moving companies to working at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC before finding his passion for helping people. This passion included lawn work, handy man services such as painting, moving furniture or any other odd jobs for his neighbors, friends and sister. He also helped clean out empty apartments or houses to get them ready for rent or sale for a friend. Any time someone needed his help Tracy was there to assist them with a smile. And, he took great pride in his work which was greatly appreciated and acknowledge by those who appreciated his help.

Tracy also had a love of cars. He often talked about getting a car so he could get around better to do his lawn or handy man services or to visit his siblings. He had such a kind and loving heart. Someone who would not hesitate to give you his last dime, nickel, penny or any other item of his if you needed it.

Tracy never hesitated when asked if he would be willing to take care of our mother when she fell ill. Oh how they both enjoyed each other’s company. Tracy fulfilled all our mother’s needs along with just being a loving son and helpful brother until our mother’s passing. That was just the kind and caring person Tracy was.

Tracy was also lovingly called “Tracy Boy” by his siblings and close friends which put such a huge smile and hearty chuckle on his face whenever we would say “here comes Tracy Boy”! Oh how we will miss those moments.

Tracy was preceded in death by his parents, two nephews Antonio “TJ” Reeves and Donald Reeves Jr.

Tracy leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters Joyce Reeves Gregory, Sharon Reeves Morton (Henry “Rusty”}. Three brothers: Jeffrey Reeves, Stanley Reeves and Donald Reeves (Natalie). Nephews: Justin Gregory, Brian Morton, Michael Morton, Dominque Reeves (Danielle) and Jamar Watson Reeves. Nieces: Shannel Gregory, Sabrina Reeves, Candice Morton, LaTae Reeves, Stanessa Reeves McNeil (Jyrell), Amber Yorke, Shaina Watson Reeves and a host of great nieces and nephews, other loving family members and friends.
