Thomas (Tommy) Yuen, of Washington, D.C. passed away on January 22, 2023 at the Cobble Health Center, Brooklyn, NY. Born on February 18, 1930 in Washington, D.C.; he attended Henry School, Langley Junior High and McKinley High School.
After graduating from McKinley in 1951, he began his career as a draftsman at the Navy Yard in Washington. Married in 1958, he and wife Mary lived in Washington, D.C., Olney, MD, Laurel, MD, Alexandria, VA, and Falls Church, VA. They frequently visited and stayed with family in Brooklyn. NY. Tommy was an avid fisherman, a life member of Almas Temple Shriners, felt travel was the best learning tool, treasured his time with family and friends and always enjoyed taking take the family dog on long walks around the neighborhood and would always have a special treat for them tucked into a pocket.
He is survived by his wife Mary; son Michael Yuen-Killick; son-in-law Angus Yuen-Killick’ and two grandsons, Theodore and Benjamin Yuen-Killick; three brothers, Kenneth, Charlie and David; two sisters, Evelyn and Jennie; nieces and nephews and their children. He was predeceased by his parents, Ting Guey and Leng Shee, sisters Margaret and Annie and brothers Billy and James.
The immediate family is arranging a private burial at Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Shore Animal League of America or to your charity of choice.
