On Sunday, August 7, 2016 of Temple Hills, MD, she peacefully departed this life, surrounded by loved ones at Holy Cross Hospital. She is survived by her parents, Cordell D. "Cup" and Sylvia Dickens Newman; one sister, Shavonne M. Ross (David) and nephew, David Ross, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Bessie R. Dickens; 12 aunts; 13 uncles and 28 first cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Cordell D. Newman, Jr. "Pork". Services will be held at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 Bladensburg Rd., Brentwood, MD on Thursday, August 18 from 12:30 p.m. until time of service, 1:30 p.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
