A Time to Learn
Robert graduated from Ballou High School in Washington, DC with the graduating class of 1971.
A Time to Love
Robert was united in Holy Matrimony to Sandra Marie Doby on April 16, 1976. Robert shared with Sandra that he knew that he was going to marry her when he first saw her. From this union they were blessed with two children, KaShaka Ealy Harris and Sekou Ealy.
A Time to Enjoy
Robert enjoyed meeting new people as much as he loved his family. He was a true Redskins fan and loved listening to Chuck Brown music. His favorite television shows were Family Feud and Law and Order. He looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. They would watch Minions From Despicable Me, Lord of The Rings and Hobbit together.
Robert spent much of his free time with his family enjoying Sunday dinners at his daughter and son-in-law’s home, riding around DC with his son and daughter-in-law. Most of all he loved spending time with his best friend and true love, his wife Sandra. Robert enjoyed being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather more than anything else on this earth. He took these responsibilities very seriously. With God’s will he will continue to love and watch over us as we continue this journey of life without his presence.
A Time to Reap
Robert ventured out on several jobs during his lifetime. He worked at Golden Dome, Giant Food Supermarket, and Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) to name a few. Metro was his favorite job. He always wanted to be a bus driver. He loved meeting and talking to the people on the bus. At Metro, Robert would go to work sharp as a tack; shirt clean, starched pant with the creases pressed to match, shoes shined, jacket clean, tie straight and smelling good. His appearance was important to him.
Robert was a faithful worker and loved working for Metro. He started out working as a Bus Operator with Metrobus and worked his way up to a Station Manager. He worked at Metro until he retired in 2016.
