Reginald Daniel Bush, Jr., the son of Reginald Daniel Bush Sr. and Margaret Anne Newman Bush was born in Washington DC on February 19, 1945. Surrounded by his family, he peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
He was a devout Catholic, baptized and confirmed at Holy Redeemer Church in Washington, DC. While there he served as an altar boy and a member of the Catholic Youth Organization. As a Boy Scout he progressed to the rank of Eagle Scout and earned the Ad Altare Dei Award. Upon graduation from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in Washington DC he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. While at Virginia Union he became a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and was an active member with the Lambda Omega Chapter in Virginia Beach. He served as the editor/reporter for the Chapter for many years. Sir Knight Reginald D. Bush, Jr. joined the Knights of Columbus in Washington DC and after moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Honorary Member.
Reginald began his career with Johnson & Johnson and later moved his family to Ohio where he worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and Area Manager with Mead Johnson Pharmaceuticals. He later became a District Manager in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Reginald became a key account manager and returned to the Washington DC and Maryland area. While living in Virginia Beach, VA he was an educator and had an eighteen-year tenure with Lincoln Heritage Insurance Company where he earned Top Producer Awards for multiple years. His employment often required travel, including internationally. He enjoyed sports, especially The Washington Football Team and a good game of chess. Reginald was a very good artist who loved his family, family events and God.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughters Adrienne Daniel (Charles), Lori Bush, Tiffany Seward(Kurtis), and Marissa Bush; grandchildren, Kristen Bush, Tiara Jeffery, Taylor Jeffery, Alexandra Daniel, Rachel Daniel, Justin Dabney and Gabriel Morton; great-grandchildren, Dominic Robinson and Kaiden Dabney; sister, Rosemary Bush(Ron Jones); goddaughter and niece, Nicole Bush-Buffington(J’Marc); nephews, Darcel Nelson and Ronnie Porter; niece, Robyn Jones; great nephews J’Len Buffington(Alisha), Corey Jones; great nieces Blaise Buffington and Biloxi Buffington, Tarin Hairston (Jason), Shania Profater-Fennell (Marvin) and Tania Owens; cousins and other relatives, colleagues and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Charles Porter; his granddaughter Chelsea Bush; and great nephew, Dion Jones.
