Patricia was born on February 1, 1946, to William and Gladys Tucker. She grew up on D St. in Southeast Washington, DC, with her six siblings, her grandmother and Mother. She attended Anacostia High School from 1962-65. In 1965, she married John Beavers, Sr. She finished her senior year of high school at home obtaining a diploma from the Wayne School in Chicago, IL while raising her daughter. In 1969, she moved to Suitland, MD. Upon her divorce in 1980, she raised two children as a single parent while cleaning apartments for a living. In 1985, Patricia began working as a cashier for Shoppers Food Warehouse. After 26 years, she retired in 2011, due to health reasons.
When she turned 62, she decided to move into an Independent Senior Apartment in Clinton, MD, for 14 years. There she made lots of friends and loved participating in all their activities, especially Bingo.
She spent her later years enjoying time with family and friends. Mostly with her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Patricia had a love for Garfield, flipflops, Farmville and yellow roses. After many hospital stays, she resided at Autumn Lake at Spa Creek Nursing Home in Annapolis, MD. There she made many friends with other residents, as well as the staff. Patricia participated in many activities such as Bingo, arts and crafts and baking.
She was an amazing Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend. Patricia was very loving, friendly, and funny. She always made us laugh. We will really miss her.
Patricia is preceded by her parents, William E. Tucker, and Gladys V. Tucker; her brothers John Tucker and Thomas Tucker and, brothers-in-law; Charles May and Victor Hensley.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Anderson (Donald) and son, John Beavers Jr (Suzetta). Her siblings; Carol May, George Tucker (Beverly), Gary Tucker (Kathy) and Catherine Hensley. Her grandchildren; Patricia Anderson; Michelle Wolsky, Sarah Anderson (Courtney), John Beavers III and Tammy Beavers as well as her great-grandchildren; Alanya Anderson, Tucker Wolsky, Carter Day and Penelope Wolsky.
Services will be held at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Rd., Brentwood, MD, on May 4, 2023. Viewing will be at 10:00am, services at 11:00am and burial at 12:00pm.
