Lil Ms. Pamela went on to competitive swim with the Walter Reed’s Dare Devils and Takoma DPR where she excelled in the backstroke.
Pamela joined the Federal government working with the Department of Labor, State Department and the Resolution Trust Corporation with the Asset Management and Sales Division where she was honored for her exemplary work. Pamela worked with the AARP where she was called to travel to Las Vegas and Indiana. An independent businesswoman she naturally became a Solopreneur lending her business acumen to help small businesses with organization development, training, learning documentation, and individuals with personal business needs and tax preparation.
As an adult, Pamela joined and was baptized at Promised Land Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Peter J. Spann. She later joined St. Mark’s Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Raymond T. Matthews. She was active at both churches. She found joy in singing with the Praise and Worship Ministry and choirs within the Music Ministry. She held various positions, such as a Website administrator and Bulletin Clerk. She served on the Welcome, Culinary, and Women’s Ministries. Pamela was a student and a teacher. She loved Bible Study and Vacation Bible School. She taught Sunday School with Deacon Hubert Whitney at PLBC.
Pamela participated in the National Baptist Convention of DC and Vicinity training workshops on Church Leadership and Development, Contributions and Donations, Taxes and Financial Responsibility, and Capacity Building. She practiced what she preached she loved street evangelization and outreach to the community. She sowed the seeds of kindness to those in needs – whether providing companionship, transportation to medical appointments, or access to food resources such as SHARE and Whitman-Walker’s food distribution program – Pamela believed in giving her very best.
A TIME FOR LOVE:
Mom Have I Told You Lately?
Have I told you lately how important you are to me?
Did I let you know how much I appreciate everything you have done and still do for me?
Have I told you how much fun it is just being with you?
Did I ever mention how often your words stick with me even when you are not around?
Is there any way to thank you for making my childhood a happy one?
For helping me become me.
I love you Mom for loving me for me.

WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME
When tomorrow starts without me please try to understand that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand.
The angel said my place was ready in heaven far above and that I would have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates I felt so much at home when God looked down and smiled at me and told me “Welcome Home.”
So, when tomorrow starts without me,
Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I’m right there in your heart!
