Florence V Taylor

Florence (Val) was born July 21, 1937, in Charleroi, PA to the late Donald G. Addiston and Dorothy Mae Foxx.

Val worked for The Federal Government for 35 years. She started at the Department of Veterans Affairs and later moved on to the Department of Education (DOE). Val retired in 1992, from the DOE as their Chief of Student Loan Applications (GS-15).

Val loved sports, music, and “her” shows, especially westerns. Growing up she played the saxophone and played softball…baby dolls were not her thing. She was a loyal Redskins (Commanders) and Washington Mystics fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Donald G. Addison and Dorothy Mae Harris; Sister Norma Harris, Son-in-law Anthony (Tony) McAfee, and Niece Pamela Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memory:

Her Grandchildren: Nikkia Renee Jones (LaRonn), Vernon Rhuedel Anderson, Jr. (Halle), Michelle Ashley Anderson Lewis (Markus), Jacquelyn Taylor Smith (Jermaine), Chanelle Smith (Rachel).
