A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Elias graduated from Bonds-Wilson High School in North Charleston in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army from November 1965 to August 1967 and was honorably discharged at rank SP4. He attended Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina, where she met the love of his life Clemmie Massey. They relocated to Washington, D.C. and married shortly thereafter. He retired from the Metropolitan Police Department after 33 years of service.
Elias was a member of Mount Horeb Baptist Church for over 20 years. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed shopping at Home Depot, and was a member of the Senior Fellowship Guild where he helped during the Fall Festivals, Thanksgiving Turkey distribution and the annual Christmas party.
Elias was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brothers Marion Wilson, William Wilson, Gideon Wilson and his sisters Bessie Knuckles and Willie Mae Latson. He is survived by his children - Vanessa, Elisa, Jason and Jessica. He is also lovingly survived by his brother Paul Dennis Wilson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Elias was a loving husband, father, uncle and friend. He is deeply loved and missed by his family, extended family, and friends. The family has entrusted Fort Lincoln Funeral Home & Cemetery with his cremation.
