My heart is broken.  I met Cheryl in 1997 at a Washington, DC Blacks in Government Conference that we were both recruiting at.  Her bubbly personality made us become instant friends.  She was always warm of heart and caring, always looking out for the best for me.  Over the years, after Cheryl retired and I continued to work, we lost contact.  Then, her daughter Dominque started to work at my agency.  At the advent of the pandemic and we were all working at home, I did not see Cheryl's daughter Dominque.  It was only today, September 19, 2024, that I ran into Dominque during our agency's emergency drill.  I was so excited to see her and told her to tell, Cheryl, that I asked about her and said hello.  I was so hurt to hear that Cheryl had transited to be with the Lord.  Dominque and I did not even have a chance to talk about it because of the hustle and bustle of the agency's emergency drill. 

 I miss you Cheryl.  I am so sad that I did not stay better connected.  We always said we would get together but time and circumstances happened.  Praying for Blessings upon the Family, Friends, and other Loved Ones of Cheryl L. Malone.

Thinking of you and praying that God will give you peace and comfort as you celebrate the life of your mother - Cheryl Lynn Jones Malone!  She was indeed one of a kind!

“Little James”

Cheryl, was one of my oldest and dearest friends. I met her at, “May’s Kindergarten.” She along with me and few others were,  “May’s Kids.” We knew we were special.  So many good times and memories! Miss you, “Bukie.” 

My deepest condolences to Nikki and the rest of the family.
I most remember two things about Cheryl - she could make you laugh and she had no fear! I was at her desk one day and realized she was reading classified in the Gazette, where I had advertised a pit sofa set.  Turned out she was interested, so off we went at lunch for her to see it. When we got back to the office, there was a parking space right in front of our building, a real rarity there.  I accomplished a perfect parallel park, and when we got out of the car, a group of fellow NGS employees gathered at the door - all male - applauded. Cheryl, her voice indignant and that challenging grin/smirk on her face, responded, "What's the matter? Never seen a woman parallel park before?"

My deepest SYMPATHY goes out to the Family of MS. Cheryl Malone.  I will never forget Cheryl, her very Particular Care; with everything she did to Accomplish Excellence.  A Great support to many people that she met ; Especially my daughter MS. Monica Parker. A REAL Fashion Model and it showed with her demeanor of Elegance.
