Zane Wayne Olesen, a beloved musician, security professional, and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2024, at the age of 67, in Kitsap County. Born on November 25, 1956, in Garrison, North Dakota, and raised in Bremerton, WA, Zane leaves behind a legacy of music, laughter, and unwavering love.
After graduating from East High School in Bremerton, Washington, Zane embarked on a career that showcased his exceptional talent and passion for music. As a renowned guitarist in Kitsap County, he captivated audiences with his performances in numerous bands, including Valla-Dia, Z-Rex and the ninjas, Theory, BuckHorn, Titanic, Sans Whammy, and many more. Zane's contributions to the local music scene will be deeply missed.
Beyond his musical pursuits, Zane dedicated his career to security and asset protection. He shared his expertise through training and mentorship, inspiring others with his knowledge and experience.
Zane was a devoted son, always expressing his gratitude and appreciation for his mother, Jean Olesen. He is preceded in death by his father, Dan Olesen, and survived by his sisters, Almeda Kuiphoff and Sally Olesen, and his brother, Allen Olesen.
Zane had a passion for music, reading, writing, and movies. He was known for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering loyalty.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Michael Kuiphoff for his unwavering support and care for his Uncle Zane. Additionally, they would like to express their gratitude to Jack Kuiphoff, Brad Nielens, Tenna Cunningham, Heather Woods, and the others who visited Zane during his final years. Their visits meant the world to him.
A memorial service will be held on November 2nd at 12:00 PM at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, with graveside services to follow at 2:00 PM.
Zane will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched through his music and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Zane's memory.
